If your machine incorporates stabilisers or outriggers, which must be utilised every time lift is applied, then it is classed as static type. If the machine can be manouvred in the raised position as per manufacturers manual, then this is classed as mobile type.
If the platform manouvres outside its base perimeter, it is classed as boom type. If the platform remains within the base perimeter, it is classed vertical type mewp, such as scissor lift.
